Big Boy is 3!

Wow, everyone says time flies but honestly I wasn't prepared to actually admit my 1st born is three years old now! He has become such a big kid in every way :) I feel like I soaked up a lot of it... and just then... I will say wasn't it so cute when Airey was a baby and he would hold his thumb in between his two fingers, and Roger will say "that was Campbell"..oh no I am already confusing all the baby memories and they are 3 and under, and Campbell is just 18 months uhhh! Some things feel like yesterday, as in the day he was born, and others feel far away, but bottom line is.. Roger, Campbell and I are so lucky to have such a sweetheart in our life. He is growing by leaps and bounds and can reason his way into anything (where does he get that,ha) but he is really shy too, which is so cute because it reminds me of Roger. He knows about 1/2 his letters and can count to 29, he is recognizing some words and loves books and counting, but lets be honest his first love is sports! He spends as much time as he can practicing tackles with Daddy and kicking soccer goals outside and riding his tricycle. He says he is ready to ride his big boy bike, so we will see as the weather gets better. He is going to be attending the new PreK 3 at St. Louis next year and we are so excited! His teacher seems so sweet and I know he will lean a lot. His vocabulary is already off the charts. We went for his 3 year check up last week and he is 50% for everything and did so great getting his finger pricked (not a single tear) and even went tee-tee in the cup for Dr. Bill, the Dr. said Airey is his best patient! He is officially completely potty trained (no diapers even at night!) and sleeps in his big bed (the one Roger grew up in!) and he even attended Big Church this week, and will start Sunday school soon :) He is so grown and loves to correct Campbell and get on to him and of course Taddle, oh here we go.....! He is still learning the concept of share and we almost have to have two of everything at this house! haha! Campbell and Airey fight over everything, monkey see-monkey do! They are getting better but it is testing our patience to the limit ( we pray hard for patience in this house!).

To celebrate the big 3 the week started with his 1st Grizzlies game at Fedex Forum, which on a side note was evacuated 5 minutes after we left in the 3rd quarter (blessing!) Airey loves watching the Griz with Roger now and we thought it was so cute when the announcer said "time Out" Airey said "oh no...what did they do? they are in trouble"...tooo cute. Then on Thursday his class had him a cute little party and sang happy birthday! On Friday his actual birthday we took him to his fav spot for lunch, Chick Fil A for nuggets and fries and he ran into Hudson a great friend from school and they had a blast, playing Tag. Friday, Marybeth,Brad, Riley and Park came into town so we all went to Chilpulatpec to see the Miriachi Band play! They sang to him and even dressed up as a grasshopper for the kids, which they were terrified of, but he didn't get it, so he sent them into super fright mode! See pics for this face! We enjoyed seeing the Smiths! We don't get to see them near enough. Well our 1st party on Saturday was at Gibson's donuts, Airey's favorite Saturday hangout :) We invited all his school friends to celebrate! They made him a huge donut cake! Our friends and family joined us at Seize the Clay later that day for a fun Pottery Painting party to cap of the celebratory week. Thanks for all the fun memories we loved seeing all our friends, children and seeing how they are all growing up together is the best part! We will have so many fun memories of the Pattersons, Thomas', Shelbys, Johnstons, Hoppings, Jacksons, and Smiths! What a week.....He enjoyed every second of it!

his favorite gift! Mimi gave him the Cowboys set! He wore it for 3 strait days, lol!

dallas...

We'll as we all know now the Cowboys didn't make the Super Bowl this year, but a few weeks ago Roger and I were in Stuttgart for a very sad day....my best friend Bonnie's mother passed away and we went to be there for the family and pay tribute to an amazing life....when you talk about death you realize that life is so short and we only get one go around, so in Debby's inspiration we were at I40 about to head back to Memphis and Roger looked at me and said "we could take a left here and head to Dallas for the cowboys playoff game...i thought...no way we can line up sitters, find tickets, find a place to stay and we were wearing dress clothes, no other clothes, toothbrush, contact case,etc...but as chance would have it... it worked! Katie and Ed babysat a couple of hours and our sitter Hannah was able to keep them for the night, and as for the clothes, we had a Supermarket Sweep through Target!!!! It was such an exciting adventure with my husband and we had so much fun on the joy ride down... being spontaneous.. and COWBOYS won their 1st playoff game in 13 years and we got to witness it in Jerry's House :) We are so thankful for all those memories we made and all the help we had from friends and family to make it happen! I would post pics, but we didn't have our camera and bought a disposable at Target but the pics were all so blurry (i.e. those camera's are TERRIBLE!!!)! We hope do that again in the future....Life lesson....you don't always have to have the perfect plan...sometimes the Perfect plan is no plan at all.....until next time....the coles

happy 2010

We had such an amazing 2009 and cant wait to see what 2010 has to hold for us. Since we have put our house on the market hoping to move close to the boys schools in east memphis, I'm sure we are in for a busy 2010 with a move and Airey starting a new pre-school and campbell starting his 2nd year at st. louis. We really hope to get more involved in church this year now that we feel we have a little more time. We are so incredibly blessed with amazing family and friends and we were able to celebrate the new year with them both. New Years eve we had a great dinner and party at the shelby's with a few other couples and actually made it to midnight! Friday night Katie and Ed hosted a delicious New Years' day dinner. We spent Saturday night out celebrating Rogers childhood friend Brian Johnston's bday at the Happy Mexican and then on to a little local bar. We had so much fun playing old G & R/ Waylon on the jukebox and hanging with friends. Sunday we were tired and super lazy and it was a perfect way to cap off the holidays! Happy New Year to you all!

merry merry!

Wow what a blessed and wonderful christmas we had this year! It was great to celebrate Jesus' birth and feel all the love and laughter with family and friends.....the week of Christmas roger and I had a fun wine and cheese party at the Kelly's Tuesday and followed that up Wednesday with a family Christmas at the Thomas' where we enjoyed watching lewis, airey, and campbell run and play together (that has really amazed us all how the 3 of them just play and play while the adults actually can relax a bit!) Cole will not be too far behind them either :) That really has been the best part of us having all boys. Thursday we headed to my family's christmas in Grenada and we all got spoiled rotten with a yummy feast and presents all around. Airey is so sweet and appreciative it just warms your heart, he gets so excited over anything he gets! Campbell is still really interested in the boxes of course. Well Thursday night we set out our cookies and chocolate milk and headed to bed as airey wanted to go to bed at 6 he was so excited but since we were on the road it wasn't until 10pm so they slept in until 9, which Roger and I would have loved any other day but we were up at 7am just so excited and counting the seconds until they woke up to see Santa came! They headed down the stairs and Airey just hung his mouth wide open with surprise.....WOWWWW......a Motorcycle, he REALLY got me a motorcycle! The boys loved their prizes! Airey worked all morning "building a house" for us on his workbench(thanks pops and kitty) and then switching back from motorcycle to tricycle (thanks mimi). Another big hit was a golf glove that he wore 12 hrs strait, haha....Campbell enjoyed his mower and loved rocking in his rocking chair mommy painted for him and He LOVES his stuffed animals, its so cute :) That afternoon we headed to Jackson and spent the weekend brunching and drinking and cooking out with the Tip Cole fam. We had our annual gag gift opening Saturday night which is always a good laugh...(see pics) Sunday headed home and hosted a birthday dinner for Mary and capped it off right!
