Wow, everyone says time flies but honestly I wasn't prepared to actually admit my 1st born is three years old now! He has become such a big kid in every way :) I feel like I soaked up a lot of it... and just then... I will say wasn't it so cute when Airey was a baby and he would hold his thumb in between his two fingers, and Roger will say "that was Campbell"..oh no I am already confusing all the baby memories and they are 3 and under, and Campbell is just 18 months uhhh! Some things feel like yesterday, as in the day he was born, and others feel far away, but bottom line is.. Roger, Campbell and I are so lucky to have such a sweetheart in our life. He is growing by leaps and bounds and can reason his way into anything (where does he get that,ha) but he is really shy too, which is so cute because it reminds me of Roger. He knows about 1/2 his letters and can count to 29, he is recognizing some words and loves books and counting, but lets be honest his first love is sports! He spends as much time as he can practicing tackles with Daddy and kicking soccer goals outside and riding his tricycle. He says he is ready to ride his big boy bike, so we will see as the weather gets better. He is going to be attending the new PreK 3 at St. Louis next year and we are so excited! His teacher seems so sweet and I know he will lean a lot. His vocabulary is already off the charts. We went for his 3 year check up last week and he is 50% for everything and did so great getting his finger pricked (not a single tear) and even went tee-tee in the cup for Dr. Bill, the Dr. said Airey is his best patient! He is officially completely potty trained (no diapers even at night!) and sleeps in his big bed (the one Roger grew up in!) and he even attended Big Church this week, and will start Sunday school soon :) He is so grown and loves to correct Campbell and get on to him and of course Taddle, oh here we go.....! He is still learning the concept of share and we almost have to have two of everything at this house! haha! Campbell and Airey fight over everything, monkey see-monkey do! They are getting better but it is testing our patience to the limit ( we pray hard for patience in this house!).
To celebrate the big 3 the week started with his 1st Grizzlies game at Fedex Forum, which on a side note was evacuated 5 minutes after we left in the 3rd quarter (blessing!) Airey loves watching the Griz with Roger now and we thought it was so cute when the announcer said "time Out" Airey said "oh no...what did they do? they are in trouble"...tooo cute. Then on Thursday his class had him a cute little party and sang happy birthday! On Friday his actual birthday we took him to his fav spot for lunch, Chick Fil A for nuggets and fries and he ran into Hudson a great friend from school and they had a blast, playing Tag. Friday, Marybeth,Brad, Riley and Park came into town so we all went to Chilpulatpec to see the Miriachi Band play! They sang to him and even dressed up as a grasshopper for the kids, which they were terrified of, but he didn't get it, so he sent them into super fright mode! See pics for this face! We enjoyed seeing the Smiths! We don't get to see them near enough. Well our 1st party on Saturday was at Gibson's donuts, Airey's favorite Saturday hangout :) We invited all his school friends to celebrate! They made him a huge donut cake! Our friends and family joined us at Seize the Clay later that day for a fun Pottery Painting party to cap of the celebratory week. Thanks for all the fun memories we loved seeing all our friends, children and seeing how they are all growing up together is the best part! We will have so many fun memories of the Pattersons, Thomas', Shelbys, Johnstons, Hoppings, Jacksons, and Smiths! What a week.....He enjoyed every second of it!
