close to home

well the coles have been keeping it close to home the last few weekends and its been nice. we had the most amazing lazy sunday yesterday and i cant remember the last time we stayed in and lounged in our p.j.'s. we have been watching lots of football and enjoying some much needed weekends at home with the boys. we cooked out with the johnston's last weekend for the bulldogs big win, which the boys couldn't have had better time and that goes ditto for the adults. this past weekend took the boys to their first CBHS football game and it was a biggie against MUS. Rog loved showing them his old stopping ground and the boys wagged their footballs around all night. Airey couldn't get enough of the "purples"...hehe. The next day we had our godsons' Gray 3rd birthday party, which was a pumpkin decorating theme and it was just too cute! Speaking of Pumpkins the boys and i went to Russell's Farm supply to get ours for this year and lets be honest its off the square and ......So is YO-LO yogurt....im semi obsessed so the boys and i go to the collierville square at least once a week.....anywho....what was i saying....oh yes, anyway we went to get a couple of pumpkins and ended up with 10 somehow??? well there are so many new kinds to choose from..heirloom...cinderella....regular....white... gourds....love them all....love the fall! The boys got to ride in a wagon so airey decided he needed to fill it with the whole pumpkin patch, so needless to say ill be needing some pumpkin recipes soon.

airey is obsessed with dressing up these days and cant decide what to be for halloween. We got him a cool lightening mcqueen racing suit in Chicago and he has batman and a construction worker, so we will see what Sunday brings. Campbell is going to be a a pirate (we tried whinny the pooh piglet costume b/c he is in love with anything Pooh) but when we tried to get it on him he flipped out, so we will see how that goes too ;) The boys have been just rough and tumble all the time now wrestling and running everywhere together. We are so glad they have each other especially two boys, its really fun to see them go at it! Hope you all are doing well and we will follow up soon with an annual halloween post.

10-10-10

run roger run....26.2 miles completed in 4:03. we are so proud of daddy and his 3rd marathon! i just teared up every time the groups would run by and i would try and catch a glimpse of roger. i stood in utter amazement at all the 50,000 runners and the hard work and goal setting it takes to run a marathon. that just tells you an ounce of the character that roger has and everything he does he does 110%. we are so proud of him. we love you daddy!!!!

not only was the marathon a wild and fun experience, but we got to spend 4 days in chicago together. we had so much fun laughing over deep dish and cold beer and having romantic date nights too. we had a completely amazing meal at art smith's (oprah's old personal chef) restaurant. i mean come on ..a gourmet deviled egg and a pickle platter. i was in heaven. of course the staff was so incredible and even gave roger a complimentary cake for an extra carb boost ;). if your ever in chicago, you MUST eat there. its super small in this old house off elm that looked like a cottage ... just a perfect date place. we got to hang out and celebrate post race with roger's great friend Adam and his super sweet wife Tiffany. We laughed and cut up and talked about our crazy boys (they have twin boys!). we love getting to see them when we get a chance and cant wait to see them again at Christmas.

also in chi-town we hung out at a fun sports bar for the cowboys( dont even say a word...), shopped all down michigan avenue's magnificent mile (turning roger's arms into clothing racks...no seriously i did) he was such a great sport as i drug him into saks, bloomies,h&m, and even cartier(hey.. a girl can dream right???)

we love getting the chance to get away and we are so blessed to have my mom and my grandmother enjoy keeping the boys so much! they didn't stop talking about mimi and gigi and campbell wouldn't even come to us when we got home :( Airey on the other hand, for the 1st time actually realized we were gone and told mimi and gigi he missed us and called roger to see if he won the race (so cute...tear). He was napping when we got home so when he woke up and saw roger he threw his arms around him and wouldn't let go ( it was a moment that touched his heart like never before!) and when he asked if he wanted to see mommy, he ran outside and stormed down the driveway as fast as i have ever seen him run and was tearing up yelling mama, mama, mama the whole way! He jumped on top of me and i melted! Oh my we are so blessed to have each other and then come home to these two amazing boys that truly are God's perfect gift!

another month!

.....another month has gone by without an update from the coles, well we obviously are as busy as usual and just squeeze in everything we can it seems like each and every day. the boys are back in school and just really loving it. airey's teachers are just so sweet and he has taken a liking to the assistant angela{found out she is actually from the Delta..so glad my boy can pick a Delta girl out of the crowd} Campbell just loves being in the 2yr old class room and is adjusting and loving it all. He is learning so much and we are trying to work on abc's and colors, as you parents of two children no HOW HARD it is to set aside time to teach the 2nd child all that good stuff that you had hours to do with the 1st one. But Campbell is typical 2nd child, always causing drama and trying to be the center of attention, while airey is your typical 1st child pleasing his mom and dad and being the leader. the boys really play so well these days...airey tends to get a tad frustrated that campbell doesn't get the rules of the imaginary games and things he comes up with, but he is so patient to explain again....and again.....and again.. to little brother.

i have been working hard on frames and roger at his new job. he actually got to take a business trip out to San Fran and get in a little golf recently too. we have stolen a date night here and there are looking forward to our fun trip to Chicago this weekend!!!.....CAN U TELL HOW EXCITED i am???? Roger will be running his 3rd marathon {he is amazing!} and Mimi and Gigi are bravely taking the kids on for the weekend.{Lord help them }

as for the weekends, we have been enthralled in every minute of football: college and the cowboys of course and even got to make our 1st State game last weekend, which the DAWGS beat Georgia for the 1st time in many years. Airey loved ringing the cowbell and made it the whole game not missing one play {he is his fathers son after all}, and wandering off...long story...trust me i dont have to blog about this one, I WILL NEVER forget it !!! We hit up another tailgate a couple weeks back with our friends Brian and Kristy. The boys loved playing with Alex and Reed and all the fun tailgate toys, mainly an RV that someone had, ha. We hit up cooper young festival before that and i got the most fabulous piece of art by Susuan Hood, and the kiddies got wooden hand carved fishing poles.

We got to cook out with the cousins at katie and ed this past weekend and the boys just have so much fun together. it really is very neat to have 4 boys so close in age and the adults had cold beers and good times watching all the "3 and under mischief". Airey has been super into soccer and costumes these days (he wore batman for literally 4 days strait even for pj's: is so funny and cute. Campbell just follows him around like Robin, so we are going to have to get that costume for him. This week he says he is a "famous soccer player" so we currently... as we speak{type} taking his nap in soccer cleats. OH the life of boys, as they tormented a frog for about 3 hours this morning, im having flashbacks of all the crazy stuff Seth did as a little brother, and i find myself praying, A LOT, haha...Well that about does it, and i really will do my best to post more!
